A Long Time Coming

My last post was over 3 months ago. You get to a point when you just have to suck it up and go for it. So much has changed. Our family has moved from Winnipeg to The Pas, in Northern Manitoba. Living in a small town again is something I would have not seen or hoped for in my future, but here we are! God called and we are trying to obey. One day this journey will testify to His amazing provision and plan for our simple little lives. So far I am enjoying it for what it is. Quiet, laid back, with a simple beauty (even in the early stages of winter) that often brings a silent smile to my heart.

My days are a lot more simplified here. We still home school (1 full-time and 2 part-time) and I am a wife and mother to our 4 children, but aside from that my days and nights are pretty slow by comparison. For once in my life I am actually okay with that (at least for now).

Naturally there are a few things that I miss from Winnipeg (beside the obvious family & friends). Starbucks coffee, our Church, our Chiropractor (and other healthcare providers), fresh farm "goodies", the many thrift stores filled with great finds, big movie theaters (and the sitters to watch the kiddies), major department stores (where do people buy their undergarments from around here?), restaurants like Lao Thai or any Sushi place.

Something that caught me by surprise here was a cute coffee shop called Lyete's that sells Black Pearl coffee (their own roast). There is a really unique 1st run movie theater here called the Lido; family owned and operated for the last 4 generations. Next would be the incredible deals you can find at Extra Foods. You know how you can go at the right time and get a 30-50% off pink tag on your items? Well here you can go at anytime and find really good 50% off deals. Seriously you can fill a whole conveyor belt with the stuff! You can also go anywhere and strike up a decent conversation and not feel pressured to move it along because you're going to hold up the line (there is no line).

Well, that is the most recent. I do have some foodie posts to update in the near future so keep posted!
